More Paperwork

Dusty and I are currently in the process of our individual interviews with our social worker from the agency. He had his earlier this week and I have mine today. After that we will schedule our in house home study for sometime next week. We did get confirmation that our CIS package was received. We continue to gather paper work for the home study and the dossier.

It is pretty exciting right now. I like to get in a good walk every evening and it is kind of my time when I think about our child to be. Has the child been born yet? What is he/she doing right now? How much longer before we get to bring the child home? Does the child know that I think about him/her every day?

I continue to read other blogs of families that have already adopted or are in the process and it is just so helpful.

We hope to get the nursery ready in the next couple of weeks and we both continue to read and learn about the needs of an adopted child once they are brought home. Much different then you would expect. The children actually go through stages of grief and anger. Even though they have been in a baby house for several months it is all they have ever known and then then are just taken away from that. So we have been learning about how to parent an adopted child and how important it is to only have Dusty and I hold the child. This child will need to learn an attachment us as this child has only relied on itself for so many months. So more to come on that later.....
